With Drinkall Dean we were appointed by English Heritage to add interpretation to Hugh Broughton Architects architectural intervention that allowed visitors to get up close to the upper level of the Tower.
Our aim was to provide a scheme that was as engaging on street level as it was inside the tower and on roof level.
Graphic Interpretation began with a large bronze timeline set into the pavement, and with tactile bronze information panels and a map. Once inside the tower, graphic panels with imbedded bronze icons told of the towers rich history. On the roof graphic panels helped visitors to get the most out of one of the best views in York.
